Real estate mogul Donald Trump is dead serious about changing the nation. He told Skout and the New York Times that in order to bring back the American Dream, a number of issues need to be addressed. Here are his take on the issues of importance:
- The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) – In order to destroy the sanguine terrorist group, he would use military might to destroy the oil fields they have captured and now operate. By starving the group of a steady stream of revenue, their organization would collapse. Trump would also find the equivalent of a General Douglas MacArthur or General Patton to be the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Presumably, this gritty leader would whip the armed forces back into shape.
- Immigration Reform – Trump would enforce existing immigration policies which call for anyone entering the nation illegally to be deported. He would also erect what he described was a “wall” along the US-Mexico border. This is not a fence that can wire cut or easily dug under. In addition, he would have Mexico pay to build the wall. There is no question that Trump takes offense at how Mexico encourages its citizens to enter the United States. It is not clear how he would get the nation to build the wall. The cost of the wall is also unclear. It would cost roughly $6 billion to build a fence along the border.
- Unemployment – Trump would enact policies to compel American companies to reshore their jobs back to the United States from places like Mexico, China, and Japan. He believes this would create a job bonanza for Americans.
